| Summary: |
Gradnja mostov na Japonskem je obravnavana na dveh različnih,
vendar vsebinsko povezanih primerih. Prvi del članka posreduje opis osnovnih
tehničnih in tehnoloških problemov pri gradnji velikih visečih mostov na
povezavi dveh glavnih japonskih otokov Honshu in Shikoku, ki nedvomno dosega
vrhunec v sodobni tehnologiji gradbeništva. Za primer je izbran most
Akashi-Kaikyo z največjim, skoraj 2 kilometra dolgim, razponom na svetu.
Vključuje opis problemov temeljenja v turbulentnem morju, tehnologije in
utrditve mostnih stebrov The construction of bridges in Japan is
referred through two different, yet related topics. Technical and
technological problems in the construction of major suspension bridges
connecting islands Honshu and Shikoku are discussed in the first part of the
paper. Without doubt, this construction represents the ultimate
technological achievement in the up-to-date civil engineering worldwide. The
Akashi-Kaikyo bridge with the world's largest central span of 2 kilometers
is described in more detail. The problems like construction of the
foundations in the turbulent tidal stream as well as construction and
transportation of huge prefabricated elements are discussed. It is realized
inthe second part of the paper, that even in (today) highly technologically
developed country with frequent strong earthquakes many sesmicaly vulnerable
structures exist. This was recently demonstrated during the Kobe earthquake.
In turn the Kobe disaster has initiated new development in earthquake
engineering and especially in seismic retrofit of bridge columns |
