Povzetek: The paper presents the results of nonlinear dynamic analyses of a four storey R/C frame structure subjected to uni-directional and bi-directional ground motion excitations. In particular, the paper tries to quantify the difference in the response of a symmetric and two asymmetric variants subjected to uni- and bi-directional seismic input. Symmetric variant of the selected building was designed according to the European seismic code provisions (Eurocode 8). The non-linear dynamic analysis results for five different earthquake records (two scalings) are presented in terms of displacements, story drifts and ductility factors for characteristical frames (average values). The asymmetric structural variants were produced by shifting the center masses toward the perimeter of the building. All other characteristics remained the same as for symmetric structure [COBISS.SI-ID 1313889]
