Povzetek: Moisture content and temperature changes during drying were investigated in the present work. Particular emphasis was placed on the initial stage of drying of saturated concrete, where moisture contents are high. For this stage of drying, experimental data are lacking, and no comprehensive theory exist to describe it. The present investigation was performed experimentally and numerically for drying of cylinders of different lengths with one exposed end, and made of lightweight concrete. Large, constant drying rates, and energy changes associated with the evaporation of the free liquid water were observed both experimentally and numerically in the initial stage of drying. The numerical model developed is based on a generalized mathematical formulation for mass and heat transfer in porous media, and its predictions are in good agreement with the experimental data within the uncertainty range of the input data

Članek obravnava spreminjanje vsebnosti vode in temperatur v betonu med sušenjem. Poudarek je na prvi fazi sušenja, kjer so vsebnosti vode visoke, saj za to fazo v razpoložljivi literaturi manjka podatkov. Opisana preiskava je potekala na betonskih valjih različnih dolžin, ki so bili izpostavljeni sušenju na enem koncu. Kot material smo uporabili navaden in lahkozrnat beton, poleg eksperimentalnega preskušanja pa smo izvedli tudi numerično simulacijo sušenja. Tako eksperimentalno kot numerično smo ugotovili, da so v zgodnji fazi hitrosti sušenja velike, zaradi faznega prehoda porne vode pa pride do energetskih sprememb v poroznem materialu. Uporabljeni numerični model temelji na posplošeni matematični formulaciji kombiniranega snovnega in toplotnega pretoka v poroznih materialih, in rezultati simulacije se ujemajo z eksperimentalno dobljenimi vrednostmi znotraj inervala negotovosti vhodnih podatkov
